Planning Ahead:

Trip Status:

Travel Plans:
Once you have booked a trip, it is advisable to arrive in Santa Barbara and stay on board the night before the trip. You may board any time after 8 P.M. Please look for the "Welcome Aboard" pamphlets (which will be laid out on the galley tables). They describe where everything on the boat is located. Also please look for the boat's manifest and please print your name on it legibly. No roll is taken prior to departure and it is everyone's responsibility to be on board.

Multi-Day Trips:
include breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, fresh fruit, cookies, candy, hot and cold drinks, multi day Fish & Game permits, and air refills (compressors capable of filling to 3000 psi). The trip does not include any dive equipment, or alcoholic beverages. Cooler space is provided for any drinks you may want to bring or small ice chests are welcomed. No illegal drugs are permitted on board as zero tolerance is strictly enforced.

Hunting:
Anyone taking game must have a California Fishing License. You can purchase these at the Sea Landing office or you can call the Fish & Game at 916-227-2246 and order them directly with a credit card. Items that you will need for game collecting include mesh bag for diving and one for live storage, spear gun or pole spear, extra tips and bands. Lobster season begins the Saturday proceeding the first Wednesday in October through the first Wednesday after the 15th of March. Fish and scallops are open year round. Please be a responsible hunter and adhere to all Fish & Game regulations that can be obtained at the Sea Landing office or on board the boat.

What to bring:

Diving Equipment:

A dive store is located at the Sea Landing for your convenience. Rentals of tanks and misc. equipment is available, please call before your trip to reserve rental gear. Dive equipment is not provided as part of the trip and it is advisable to bring the following items:

· Mask, snorkel, fins.
· 1/4 in. wetsuit or drysuit with hood, gloves and booties
(water temperature in summer mid 60's and in winter mid 50's).
· Tank and BCD.
· Weight belt.
· Regulator with pressure gauge, depth gauge, compass,
and decompression computer. A computer is highly recommended as you can be exposed to multiple dives.
· U/W light and chemical light (Cyalume) for night dives.
· Save-A-Dive kit (extra fin strap, mask strap, o-rings, silicon, tools, etc.)

Personal Items:
Here are just a few items to keep in mind when packing for a trip:

· Dress in layers for both warm and cool weather. A lightweight raincoat or windbreaker is suggested for sea spray and skiff landings. Bring swimsuits and towels if you are inclined to swim. Wear low heeled rubber soled shoes for on board the boat, and lightweight hiking boots for on the Island. A change of clothes is a good idea in case of getting wet during Island landings.
· Personal toiletries, soap, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, towels and a change of clothes are recommended for overnight trips. All of our boats are equipped with hot water showers.
· Sunscreen, sunglasses, small backpack, binoculars and a hat.
· Take seasick medicine ½ hour prior to departure if you have the tendency to get seasick. Seasick medicine can be purchased at the Sea landing office prior to your trip.
· On overnight trips you will have an opportunity to enjoy water sports after the daily Island Hike. You are welcome to bring a kayak, wetsuit, skin or scuba gear along. In order to scuba dive you must show proof of certification.
· Camera and extra film and batteries. Also bring plastic bags for these items, as they are prone to get wet.
· Sleeping bag for extra comfort
(bunks are vinyl covered pads with blanket and pillows provided).
· Food and drinks are available on board for sale on 1-day trips. Food and drinks are included on all multi day trips. Snack packs (energy bar, trail mix, piece of fruit and bottle of water) are available for your hike. Hot and cold breakfasts and lunches are always available on board.

Kayak rentals:
Kayaks are available on both single and multiple day excursions. Please see Sea Landing Dive Center for more detailed information and current price list of rentals.
